Infected Eye
Hi
I picked up a freinds beardie today as they could no longer house or look after her i expected the beardie to be resnobaly fit and healthy but on arrival i was shocked to see her state.
She laid eggs last night so she was extremly de-hydrated her skin felt loose and Saggy?
Also she has kinks in her tail which could possibly be a calcium or protien defficency?
They were keeping her in a viv which was filled with sand and where she has been digging ino the sand her eye is majorly infected and looked as though it hadnt been cleaned out for some time.
She has come tome as a major cause for concern so i took her immadetly to my reptile Guro so to speak at my local pet store. ( he has always been a great help and i have learnt alot from him)
After cleaning her eyes out with some warm water and a cotton bud it seems i have gotten all the sand out and i also gave her a warm bath with the water soulable calcium and put her into a proper viv, As her last home didnt have a uv light either.
Her died seems good and she seems to have a fantastic appetite ive given her some gut loaded locusts since shes been home and offerd her a pinky as they are meant to be loaded with calcium. Am i being a little to worried?
Any information or advice would be greatly appreciated If she does not improve within the next couple of days i will be taking her to the vet immedatley. But im hoping as out new viv has no sand and a uv light with regular bathing and cleaning of the eye im hoping she will perk up
