Post Isit easy?

OK, well i've thought about it and now i'm going to buy a beardie but is this one of the easiest reptiles to care for and is all the vivarium set-up as hard as it is made out to be? and any other information you can give me on beardies, it would be helpful =D

Hi, welcome
I'm just getting into collecting reps too and I've found that the set up does seem really complicated but as long as you do your research including using the wealth of knowledge on here it's really not that difficult. You need to get everything set up beforehand and test temps etc but once that's done it's really quite simple.
So read up and get ready to enjoy your new addition to the family. One tip though, get more than one of all your equipment because it's seriously addictive. ;-)

I would say its NOT one of the easiest reptiles to keep and YES it is as difficult as everyone makes out.

Beardies are exceptionally time consuming and demanding. The set up costs, finding space for a 4x2x2 foot minimum sized viv in your home. All the equipment which you have to get set up right and working correctly before you get your beardie.
Then there is the feeding, if its a baby your feeding three times a day, plus getting up earlier to prep the fruit/ veg. The cost of buying all the live food!
Ensuring you have found a good reptile vet before you buy it and the costs of having it checked at least once a year, poo samples for worms and parasites, + treatment costs.

BUT once you have a beardie and you get over the initial paranoia of getting everything right and you get over just how much these cost to set up and keep and how demanding they are you are in for a treat. Beardies can make excellent pets, they are so interactive and laid back friendly and you will be rewarded with not only an unusual pet but a fun and enjoyable animal for anything up to 15 years
