A decent filter will do it, what do you have at the moment?

You wouldn't need to spend anywhere near £100 to get a decent filter suitable for a pair of Musks, around £40-45 will buy an Eheim Classic that does the job.

What's the cleaning stuff that you're using? These additives generally just mask a problem rather than solving it, in the long term an adequate filtration system is the only way to maintain water quality.

Musks are mainly carnivorous, a diet based on good quality pellets, supplemented with the kind of things they'd eat in the wild such as aquatic snails, freshwater shrimp and various other inverts is what they need.

There's an excellent Musk caresheet here that may help The Terrapin Tank • View topic - Care sheet for 'Bottom Walkers'

I have to agree with Graham here. Turtles are mucky wee blighters and you need a good external filter that can cope with the amount of harmful waste they produce.
A decent filter doesn't have to be overly expensive. Our's cost £65 and has worked a treat.
It's well worth it in the long run.
