Default Convince me to get a frog, please.

I'm not sure if this should be here or in the amphibians section, but I'm figuring if I don't know, I probably count as a newbie...

I'd like to get a frog. It all started with checking out Pacman frogs, so for the moment I'll probably assume that's what I will get. However, the last pet I owned completely (I've lived with several cats, but they've always ultimately belonged to someone else) was a hampster back when I was a kid, and too stupid/selfish to really own an animal. My mother was a former animal nurse, so I'm sure Speedy actually had a fairly nice life, but watching her gnaw on the bars of her cage managed to leave some deep emotional scars, and ten years on I'm still wracked with guilt that I drove a little hamster insane with rage/boredom/despair.

Emotional baggage aside - I want something I can look at and talk to. I'm not bothered about handling it, nor do I want it to rely on me for happiness (to an extent - I'm still going to feed it, obviously). Basically, something that is perfectly content to just sit around, like me.

I've been gearing myself up to own a pet for a few years now, but I'm really not experienced with small animals. What does it take, personally, to own a frog like the one I'm thinking? Financially? What do I have to do to keep it happy? I know I need a vivarium, substrate, and a mister. I don't go on holidays and if ever I was away for some reason, I've got the ex-animal nurse to ship Froglet off to. Am I expected to feed it live worms/insects? Will I have to raise them, too? Will I break from the pressure of trying to keep a frog happy, and its food happy, or should I just pack in the whole idea and find a good therapist?

Thoughts?

Default whites tree frog

have a look at whites tree frog these are probaly the easiest frog to keep and the most rewarding. They are fat and full of character

Keeping them:
some quick tips are that you will need to have a exo terra glass 45*45*45 for one and a 45*45*60 for two. i woudlnt recommend keeping more than two together out of my own experience its gets a bit too hard to keep more then three in the same viv.
Feed mostly on crickets but they also eat pinkies mealworms and waxworms
hope this helps if you havent already decided
