Size as they say does matter, get it too small and it will be working flat out all the time with no reserve if it gets really cold. As a guide my beardy viv is 4x2x2 feet the main daytime heat is provided by a narrow beam spotlight of 100watts. At night when all lights go off a ceramic set on a stat takes over for background heat its rated at 150watts. The day hot spot is close to 105 f, night time is more like 75f at the warm end dropping to 65f at the cool end.
I know from my sig it looks like Im just a snakes only man but I also keep lizards, spiders and scorpions, just havent figured out how to make the list a bit longer.
