Default Newbie Chameleon Info please

Hi All

Im getting a little Chameleon for my partner for Christmas but want as much info gathered as possible for me to pass on to him so he knows what hes doing.

Ive looked into which sex is best and been advised that males are better as they live longer and dont have the problem with eggs.

Could some one advise how is it best to hand feed the little one so we can make sure hes getting enough food during his early days, home many times to mist the tank, what temperature his viv should be kept at, do you turn lighting off during night, ive heard about gut loaded food.... what and how?? also substrate ... do you have it or dont you so many different views on that one. Any info you could get me would be great.

Thanks Lis

Hiya

Are you getting a baby or an adult?

Oh, and what species are you getting?

Hi I agree with the above I would go or a beardie they like being held alot more then the others too. Geckos are mainly nocturnal too. Chameleons are expensive and require a lot of care and if they get ill will cost you alot of money
