axolotls!
i have only just seen these amazing lil creaturs about a week ago and ofcourse want one! i hav a spare tank and hav been lookin up some info like water temp quality filtration is there anything else that i would need to no before gettin one??
any help very usefull they look so cute! sallie

They're so ACE! Loved my one, here's some tips for you
1) They live in cold water, mine used to live outide and survived a freeze so keep it cool and clean, depth has to be higher than the length of the axolotl 2) Water filter is necessary too, change the water 10% per week, then a full change every couple of months, just like you would with fish 3) They all eat different stuff, mine used to eat raw meat / vegetables and a staple fish food, the best was sinking pellets for pond fish. 4) Keep away from any areosols / air fresheners of course, if the tank is open topped 5) Keep an eye on it's fluffy gills - they indicate it's health, fluffy and big mean healthy, short and flaky means somethings wrong Hope all that helps
