Default Using the correct UVA/UVB light?

Hi guys,

I have posted a few things on here recently & got some excellent suggestions, but i have another question. (sorry).

I got recommended an Arcadia D3+ Reptile Tube 12% UVB Light 38inches long for my 48inches tank for a bearded dragon.

Is this a good tube to use? Does it ommit UVA AND UVB?? Bearing in mind i will use a 150w basking light.

Cheers

150 watt basking light what size tank you going to have the beardie in? I use 60-100 watts in my vivs and stacks.

I used a 100W spot in my viv when we kept Beardies. Never had any issues with it. If you are using a 150W, it'll simply heat up quicker than what my 100W would. Can't see 150W being an issue. Which thermostat are you using if you don't mind me asking?

None at the mo as i havent actually brought it im just after suggestions. But i was thinking of using a dimmer rather than a stat.

Was you still using a 4 x 2 foot tank??

we use exo terra repti glo florescent uvb tubes, we use both 10.0 and 5.0 for our beardies and the thrive on it, this is what we were advised to use by people both on this forum and in reptile shops.

Definitley use a dimming stat for the basking bulb, if your house is really really cold then you might need a 150W, but I would have thought a 100W would do in a 4x2x2 viv. Yes, the arcadia 12% tubes are the best ones out there at the moment, they output more UV over greater distances than the Zoo Med or Exo Terra tubes.

There is a full UV experiment on here somewhere measuring the output of different bulbs at different distances.
