closing threads

how do you close threads and also even if i read the new update on a thread it still is in my user cp how do i lose them?

The greyhound forum I run, can only be closed if the administrator choses to lock a thread usually if its become out of hand or abusive. Dont know if this is the same method used on here.

I think you have to be a Moderator to close a thread
