Default Conflicting views - Corn Night Temps

Hi, just out of interest I have heard two conflicting views regarding night temps for corn snakes.

One view states that the viv temps stay constant 24 hours a day while the other states that the night time temps need to drop.

So corn snake keepers, what do you do? What temps do you keep your snake at and do you alter the temps at night?

Cheers guys.

I keep mine at a constant temp of 32C, i think the night drop is used if some one wants everything to be perfect. Mine, sheds fine, eats like its starved and is growing pretty well.

They should get some sort of night time drop, they don't come from a tropical region with a constant temperature day and night.
When I was breeding corns mine were heated for 14 hours and then left at room temperature.

Cool, thanks guys. It seems the general method is mats on 24/ and allow the natural drop in temps at night take effect. Good stuff.

Default Gradients are key

My stats remain constant. I allow the natural drop in night time temperature to cool the cool end. The corns have hides at both the warm end and the cool end and they decide which end they'd prefer to be at. The most important thing is to make sure there is a good gradient of temperatures available for them to choose from. In the summer I use a fan to control the ambient temperature to ensure that there is still a cool end.
Cheers,
Patrick.

I keep my heatmat on all the time, except in winter. The ambient temperature does drop at night.
