Default Help with my leo.. hes not eaten :(

I fetched m healthy looking leo nearly 2 weeks ago.. he has a lovely fat tail so therefore i had no concern about him not feeding.. however, since getting him home he just wont feed. I have offered his normal diet of mealies and size 2 locusts also i tried him with a wax worm just to see and a brown cricket.. NOTHING.. he still looks "happy" but for how long.. his viv is fine and temps are great.. what am i doing

Hi Kimmi. What are the temps in the viv (need floor temps at warm side especially)? How old is your Leo? Have you got him on his own?
It can, as I'm sure you know, take a while for them to settle in. If you have an adult then it could take anything up to a month. A juvenile or baby should hopefully settle sooner as they have fewer reserves than an adult.

What is the temperature on the floor of the warm side and cool side? Has he got plenty of hides (nice small dark ones) as he will be feeling a bit insecure - especially if he is in a bigger space now. What foods have you tried him with? try to find out what he was being fed on before, many adults become quite fussy with food and will only readily eat what they are used to.

I have found every leo is different - some will take much longer to settle and its nearly always the different temps or environment- best to place a few (heated so they wriggle) mealworms outside the hide opening at dusk and leave him alone - one of my male Trempers didn't eat for 3 weeks and he was fine - sometimes if a leo was kept in a smaller tank - moving them to a larger tank can cause him to stray away from the heat source and he will enter a semi hibernation state. Its a good sign that he has a nice plump tail - he stores both water and fat in there and will be ok for several weeks yet.

Hi. I'm also a new Leo Gecko owner having feeding troubles. But its more an intermittent problem I guess.
I started a thread before realising this one was on, its "Leo feeding troubles" and all the details of my prob are there.
Please can anyone help me? Cheers x
