Default Few newbie questions about my new BD

So we got Nelson two days ago and so far so good. He seems to have settled in ok and looks happy enough. However there are a few things that are worrying me a little.

Firstly on the first night we turned both his uv tube and heating off due to advice on these here forums. I got up twice in the night to check the temps and it did not drop below 64 degrees so i assume this is ok at night. Reason i ask is because Nelson was laying flat, breathing very slowly, not moving and was very sluggish. Is this the norm for Beardies at night? I was so worried that last night i left the thermostat on in the viv.

Secondly i dont know why but he will not eat greens out of the bowl ! He is not eating much greens at the mo anyway which im putting down to him just settling down ( however he is yumming up the crickets like there is no tomorrrow ). He does eat some but only if they are on the rocks or hand feeding. He just ignores them when they are in the feeding dish right in front of him. Can he smell something on the bowl (it was used for someone elses beardie ) or is he just being anal !

Lastly ( for now ) how often are they meant to poo? This is his third day home now and he has only delivered one doo doo so far. Normal ?

Sorry for the noob questions but I would take advice from you lot over the pet shops anyday !

is he being sluggish whent he lights are off? if so then he isnt as active so he breaths slower and he won't move much untill he is warm enough is he active when the lights are on? because some beardies when they move home they can be lazy sort of, was he fed greens by the previous pet shop/breeder? if not it will be a bit of a journey to get him used to them..but it depends if he likes them or not have you tried putting a few meal worms mixed in? it might attract him a little if he isnt eating out the dish then maybe put it where he prefers it he might just like it out?
hope this helps a little

at night when the lights go off they go to sleep nearly straight away so the would lie wherever they are they will breathe shallow as they sleep one of mine looks like its not even breathing when asleep

as long as he/she is lively during the day its ok
as to eating greens how old is it if young they will eat 90% livefood as they need protien they may eat some greens but not much as they get older they will eat more greens
as to night temps they can go down to 60f or even lower i myself have a ceramic heater bulb (40w) to come on if temp drop below 60f at night

Keep the heat off at night he'll be fine. He will be sluggish and less active until he heats up again. How old is he, as some beardies wont eat greens at a young age. Mine has always been quite fussy.

As long as he is eating live food don't worry. Guytload your live food instead, this will give your beardie the nutrients he needs.

this is fine- he was most robably asleep and in the morning they are slow and normally dark in colour cause they need some time to heat up and then they get active again

im sure hes just being fussy and you need to just supply him with greens daily and eventually he will eat them, patience is a virtue im afraid! lots of youngsters dont eat greens but they will as they get older, keep them in the same place and vary it around and maybe he will give it a try- they are quite sneaky at times- George wont eat infront of me at all! you dont want to handfeed them casue they will expect to be waited on hand and foot!! just make sure he doesnt start to loose weight and gutload your livefood- basically put some veg in the container so they eat before you feed them to beardie

George poos about once every day or two- when he was a baby though he pooed everyday and wherrever he chose now he uses a certian spot!- a little litter trained lizard! they are all different so aslong as he is eating he will keep pooing, if he doesnt then you might want to worry a bit.
