Yeah houses are cheaper up here than in England, always have been. But the system is different. In England the price you see can usually be bartered downwards, whereas up here the price you see is where the bidding starts at. Expect to pay approx 10% more than the price its advertised at. Unless it states "fixed price", that is a first come first served offer, no haggling, that is the price.
If you're moving from England to Scotland you can get yourself a pretty good deal, but the other way around is abit harder!
