shes very pretty looking cat looks like my old tonkinese. Has she been wormed?

I keep a collar on one of my cats but only because it has bells on it so it warns any animals hes stalking. Ive never had any problems with my cats and collars (before he wore the collar he was catching 100s of things)

my cat has to wear a flee collar all the time because he's allergic to flees! bless him.
if you hadn't said you already seem an improvement i was gonna say that if you saw my cat out you'd think he's mistreated...he's got thyroid probs and the meds aren't working :-( he's very old and looks very skinny and scabby (because of flee allergy).
but unfortunatly if you already see an improvement this doesnt seem to be the case.
anyways...good luck with the kitty and hope he/she gets better soon

That looks like a flea collar to me so be careful if you have deflead it as not meant to wear a flea collar when treated with frontline. I would worm it and put a breakaway collar on it with a note on it saying "I have wormed and deflead your cat please be sure to look after it in the future" Why do these people have cats then dont look after them. Are you sure she isnt lost?

Aww poor thing
My cat always wears a collar, though it's a safety collar.
If it's wearing a collar then it's got to have a home. I wouldn't reccomend taking its collar off as it's not your cat. I would hate it if some person took my cats collar off without my permission.
If you feel though (as you say it's skinny and doesn't look well) that it's not being cared for right, you could take it to the vets to see if it has a microchip. If you find where the owners are, you could possibly report them to a Rescue Cente etc who could do something about it.
Remember, sometimes health conditions out of the owners hands can cause scabs, bad fur condition etc.
Not many people will care so much about an animal they don't even own, well done for that!

I'd try & find out if there are any reported missing cats in ur area As my neices cat was missing for just over 3 weeks we thought she was dead somewhere then she just appeared back at the house so emaciated & poorly so maybe it just needs to be taken home

good on you for looking after it!
one of my cats wears a collar, she doesnt venture out much as shes rather old and shes always worn one. The other goes out all the time and is still young so in case of accidents he doesnt wear one.

she looks really healthy, you've done a great job

IMO it's not your cat to be messing about with. It's good that you're worried for it and want to help it but i know i wouldnt be happy if someone stole a collar off my cat and had been giving it chemical treatments without my permission. You dont know if the cat is allergic to any treatments or if the owners havn't been treating for fleas already - if this is the case then it could end up with TSS.

I'd personally take the cat to a rescue centre where it can be scanned for a microchip and the owners contacted.
