Zoo-Man, how do you get your birds to stay on the perch in a shop?! My two would be anywhere but the perch!

You just have to be firm with them Shell , my two 'bully' anyone that comes in that shows any weakness to them... Everyone that visits now need to just 'bite the bullet' and go pick Shenzi (the worse one) up from inside her cage. This seems to be working and shes not 'attacked' anyone in nearly a year!

Barney the Hans Macaw. He's very fickle.

And here is Sophie the Umbrella Cockatoo.

Neither are mine. Met them both through the pet shop I used to work in.

Don't own a parrot myself because of the dog, but i have worked with a few, heres some of them

This is Al the Blue and Gold macaw, he was my closest buddy, and i have the strongest bond with him, even when i visit up to 18 months he always remembers me and falls into my arms like a baby wanting his belly and underwings tickled

This is Shy the cockatoo, hes not tame, but a sweety all the same!

This is either Cheeky or Charlie, i can't tell them apart from photos, not so tame as in friendly, but very cheeky! Like Shy, they were rescues, illegally Smuggled into the country, they came from Heathrow airport after being found in someones luggage

and i can't leave Ozzy out, my little buddy, she came from a lady who developed an allergy to her, she was very upset to let her go, she lived in the house on a perch, had never been in a cage before and extremely friendly, we did wonder how she'd get on in a busy environment, she was put into an aviary with several other cockatiels, budgies, red rumps and a ring neck parakeet and she bonded straight away with one of the other cockatiels and her owner visited often

Oh and heres a baby Lovebird

Hey Shell, I don't keep my parrots at the shop, they were just at the shop when those photos were taken for our Meet The Parrots weekend. But yes, you should come & visit us! And of course bring Dennis for me to steal....erm I mean cuddle

Hi Arwen, my 4 are fairly used to staying on their perches at home when they are out of their cages, but at the Meet The Parrots weekend, where these pics were taken, Rosie the Galah did fly off her perch to men she took a fancy to!

I'm not sure where they came from, i don't know how the macaw ended up there, but the greys and the cockatoos were smuggles, there was another female cockatoo too, but she was too stressed in captivity and died

I just know they are all rescues and the 3 were said to come from Heathrow, they are in connection with Heathrow and have had many lizards from there too including 30 chameleons which were wrapped in socks
