I would say the Timneh is a much more rounded bird than the congo and yes they do seem to be steadier and less easily spooked than the congo's they also seem to be a multi person bird that takes to more than one person but as all parrots there is always the special bond person they will have (this is me in my birds case) where a congo will tend to just tolerate the bond person and no one else.

that may be the case in most congos but my congo loves every one my little sister (takes nuts from her mouth) loves her to bits, brother,his girl freind, my mum, step dad, and my girlfriend which helps me teach tricks everynite but i am his special person and i dont know about timnehs but he does get spooked sometimes only on silly little things like my camra and some new people which he doesnt like male or female but we love him!
would like a blue and gold macaw but dont have the space for one at the moment how do your grey act with other people?

Thats is a lovely looking congo you have, and thats great that he is a sociable chap. My timneh is also a friend to most but he does give new comers a wide berth and scopes them out and it takes a few visits before he accepts them, as for gettign spooked he is pretty much fearless and will investigate most things without any bother. I also love macaws (militarys and hyacinths) and black palm cockatoos but dont think I will ever own one due to having the grey and my other animals. Glad I started this thread now as there are some beutiful birds kept by peeps on this forum.
