Talking New puppies - Sprocker Spaniels

Meet Sprocket & Widget, we originally started out with Sprocket as an early christmas present for my bf's mum but ended up going back to the breeder and getting one of his brothers aswell!!

Sprocket is the one with no markings and Widget is the one with the white chest.

Cor I dont envy their parents - two pups at once is hard enough, two spaniels at once?!

They're beautiful though

I do hope you didnt pay through the nose for them though, being crossbred and all.

Gorgeous as they are I agree with Lisa : /

Two boys and litter mates, not a good idea (sorry but it isnt)

Put it this way its like you living with your brother or sister for your entire life. Problems would and could occur.

Get them to puppy lessons and get them neutered early.

lol yea you can't take your eyes off them for a second, they're into everything at the min!! They got into the downstairs bathroom this afternoon and covered the place in toilet roll!!
My bf's mum really wanted a springer spaniel pup but we couldn't find one anywhere, then we came across these. One breeder was looking £600 each for them which I wasn't willing to pay for a crossbreed no matter how cute!! We paid £150 each for these two which I didn't think was too bad compared to what some people were looking.

Cant see the pictures

Your bf's mum will definately have her hands full! This cross was originally bred to be working dogs (they are VERY good) so can be a bit too much for the average pet owner to cope with. They will need a lot of training and exercise!

£600 would be for health tested, proven working parents and would not be unreasonable for someone buying a pup of this cross as a working dog. I would imagine at £150 these pups are not from health tested parents.

That's a very good price IMO! For this particular cross breed *I* would personally pay up to about £900 providing the parents were well bred, health tested (or other litters, brothers/sisters etc were health tested) and had good drive to please in the field.

Yup, I don't think it matters that it's a crossbreed, it's a recognized cross breed that is known to have many characteristics that appeal to me. I have a lot of trust in this particular breed and aside from having an outstanding temperament, a personality that's eager to please and lovely conformation and size, they tend to have a lot of drive for their job. One of the breeds I would feel privileged to own and hope one day to be able to raise, train and use one in the field.

thing is in the early 1800 the cocker and the springer were the same thing but the larger (now springer) was used to flush game and the smaller ones (now cocker) were used to flush woodcock then in the 1930's there were finally recognised as to separate breeds so a sprocker is really just a Field spaniel as they are one of the same things

cocker/sprocker/springer, aslong as it does the job is the main thing I had a gorgeous liver and white cocker with 52FTCH in pedigree at 8 weeks she was hunting and was the best dog i owned sadly i lost her due to liver problems at 9 months old and now just have working Labs would love a cocker again one day but will either be black or blue roan as they are my two fave colours

Each to their own, but as you said if they do the job that's the main thing.
