it was brilliant! I saw a few Beauty snakes, then, after giving up hope, on the second to last day i saw a Boomslang just chilling on a wall down some backstreets.

I was fumbling to get my camera when a lizard ran up the wall, the snake got spooked, and fell off the wall into the person's garden!

It's so hard to find snakes anywhere in the rain though. I went to all the nature reserves near my uncle's house and searched for hours. It gave me great respect for people like Mark O'shea, who do their T.V shows with no set ups!

yeh definately, sometimes they search for days, and if it is no set ups then its not an easy job, I suppose alot of it is knowing what sort of habitat to look in, boomslangs and certain mambas would probably be the easiest to find as they spend alot of time off of the ground, others like Bitis species would be harder, as they are lazy anyway and being ambush predators I doubt you see them on the move much.

yeah i was searching for a Puff Adder more than anything! But where they hide i do not know, because i turned over every giant palm leaf, log, etc in my hunt and only found lizards and colubrids . I found an old termite mound that had something reptilian in it, but it was wedged up against the hole, deep inside, so i wasnt going to try and dislodge it!
