Default I have a new goat

I bought a new goat of someone I knew years ago when I had goats before. She is a vicar's wife and shows goats plus does milk recording trials with them. Anyway, I contacted her recently asking if she had a spare milking nanny for sale and she did. She is a Saanen cross Golden Guernsey. Previously named summat daft like sonata, chorister, cantata or another musical term as all her goats are. I said I was bound to forget it so have renamed her 'Annie'. She has smooth sleek white fur with a hint of golden in it, but on her hind quarters she has long whisps of fur looking for all the world like she'd been to an Anne Summers party and bought herself some lacy knickers
Anyway, currently I'm getting 6 pints a day off Annie. Must start freezing some.
I'm not taking any quantity off Clara my little Saanen who is feeding twins but am still milking morning and night just to get her used to the feel of it.
I have also decided to keep Clara's male kid who has been named 'Solomon' as all my previous stud males were named. He and his sister 'Louise' are both polled as is there mother and he would be a useful stud as he should pass on his polled genes, thus saving money and stress on dehorning baby goats. I plan on putting him in what is now the turkey pen and shed although gawd knows where I'll put the turkeys.I might get rid of the bantam marans and shove the turkeys in their pen instead. I don't really need them as I'm concentrating on showing my welsummer bantams. So, if anyone would like to start breeding and showingbantam marans, I know someone who has some nice stock for sale
Photos of new goat, turkey chicks and welsummer chicks forthcoming.
Anyone want to buy some goats milk? (for your pets of course)

Yes been very busy, not only tiling and grouting the floor, but plastering and artexing, planning the new vivs and running about after my old mum who is 'confused'. I kept meaning to catch up on the forum but seem to lose track of time.
Puppies not ready to go yet. I have a nice lady coming to view this week, turned several away without letting them look. Will start to place advert's next week. I'm keeping one, named her 'Popsy' after a dog we had for a couple of months when I was a child (all our pets were got, kept for a couple of months, then got rid of again for various reasons). Have named them all so will take some pics when I have a minute. They have joined the pack now and have been for the last week which is great to teach them their place in life and teaches them to mind their manners. The older dog have endless patience with them but will put them in their place when needed. Will have their first jabs in a couple of weeks.
