Default where to get a gsd

hi guys, im looking at getting another gsd puppy but would like a long haired one. any idea where i can look? the rescue sites don't give breeder details and the kennel club website doesn't say whether they are long or short haired. ??????

I would just call up the people who have puppies on the KC puppy register and ask them if there's are long or short haired

Long haired GSDs I believe do not meet the breed standard though, so last time I checked, couldn't be shown at big events or even qualify for crufts, so a lot of KC breeders stick to short haired. Would recommend making sure the parents are still hip scored to standard even though they may not be show "standard".

yeah same as christy said

just go through the list of breeders on the kennel clb site and call all the ones closest to you explain what your looking for and they may be able to point you in the right direction if they cant help you themselves

My friend Jacqui breeds and shows GSD.Although you cant show long coats they are still a recognised GSD. If the parents carry longcoat you usually get some in the litter. My 3 came from her(down to 1 now ) Not sure if she has any longcoats in this litter
Here is her website and she has a litter ready now, all fully vaccinated, tattoed and registered. Her dogs have good elbows and low hip scores, she is in Lancashire and if its to far, knows lots of breeders

www.Foxfold.co.uk have a few left from a recent litter - fabulous dogs - all long haired - their dogs are known all over the country for their fantastic working ability - in obedience, agility and working trials and fantastic temperaments and health too.
