Happy Anniversary jen but sorry the day didnt go as planned. we used to try and snuggle and waych films on the floor but its not very romantic with 11 dogs trying to join in

Eileen what a poor boy. Im so glad hes out of the kennel as I find they dont make good kennel dogs if they have lived in a house.I bet Barry wonders what he has let himself in for............When I got my first girl she was 18 months old and so very clingy to start with, even following me into the loo, she just clung to me as I was the only familiar thing to her. Im sure once he settles in his confidence will rebuild. Its so hard at the beginning but Im sure things will only get better from now on. He definately doesnt sound aggressive as not many dogs will let a complete stranger bath them so well done Barry for making him feel safe
I bet you are desperate to get home now and take charge I know I would be

You know me so well, Shell! I'm so wishing I was there.

I know Barry will cope admirably, it's just that thing I have that I could do it better!! Can't help myself!

When Amber (his GSD) was about 6 year old he and Leo came back from one of our Scottish holidays covered in ticks and in those days you had to bath them in Alugen (or something similar) and Amber went berserk in the bath, growled and snarled and curled his lip - really mad he was! Yet this dog stood - obviously didn't enjoy it, but was in no way aggressive towards him - bless him!

I think he's been fed and watered and allowed out of his kennel to pee, cos according to Alison he refused point blank to pee in there, and that sounds like as much attention as he got! Poor dog!!

Oh I so need to be home for a cuddle!!!

Well, Diesel doesn't quite understand that when he's "snuggling" with Mom and Dad, he's not supposed to jump/lay on our heads. So we shall see how this goes. It'll be our first snuggling on the floor night since we got him.

Don't need that Alugan stuff nowadays, but I had to use it quite a lot on the dogs in the "old days".

I think this dog is going to turn out to be a very sensitive dog - he reminds me so much of Leo - if he turns out half as good, I'll be delighted!!!

Jen, I remember lying on the floor with Barry and a GSD on either side of us!! They wouldn't be left out - no way!!
