Default Possible to get Bald eagles?

Does anybody know if its possible to get Bald Eagles, as in the ones that are the US national symbol?

I didn't think they were DWA? But as far as im aware they are endangered.

They aint DWA, the only bird on DWA is the Ostrich, as the Emu came of in October last year.

haha imagine owning an emu, quite a few species seem to have been taken off tho, maybe the government are getting soft hehe

In the USA, even owning a bald eagle feather is a federal offense, let alone actually owning a bald eagle. They are extremely endangered, and mate for life, and I doubt that many captive institutions could provide the adequate enclosures for them to mate, which is essential for the survival of the species.

So, in short, no, they are not DWA, but no, it's not likely youd get your hands on them either as a private individual.

I believe Whipsnade Zoo has some if you want to see them though

No, but some birds of prey are endangered and require to be microchipped & have paperwork from Cites to ensure that they are captive bred in a legal country and that the eggs or birds weren't stolen from the wild.

so if you wanted to buy say a harris hawk or something you could jus literally find a breeder and get 1?
