I love the name too, shes beautiful.
Mmm have you had a feel round the belly area as she looks a bit rounded or is it just her coat?I believe all cats are genetically Tabby so you get Ghost markings but usually the older they get the less they show. Shes got a really pretty face

She looks like she's got her feet well under the table already!
![]() Yes, you're right Shell, all cats are genetically tabby but some have stronger ghost markings than others and the red series are the worst. It's impossible to get a solid red cat - they all have ghost tabby markings. I sometimes wonder how breeders decide whether they've got a red or a red tabby, cos they all look the same to me when I look at them on the showbench! ![]()

Thank you, I'm glad you like her new name, I didn't want anything too obvious like Blackie or Sooty!
She sort of picked it herself - I tried calling her a few different names and she meowed at that one, though someone at work said maybe she was saying 'for heavens sake, don't call me that!' I googled the name yesterday and found that there is also an Indian actress called Mallika Sherawat! My last cat Millie was named after the actress Millicent Martin - I can feel a theme developing here! Well, I've learned something today! I've never heard that about the markings before! ![]() If I try to have a serious look at her I get savaged at the moment but it may be to do with the fact that she has a very good appetite - I do hope its nothing else, Mel assured me that Nelson and his nuts had not had a chance to get at her!!!! It may have been the way she was sitting at the time I took the photo! She'll be off for a check up at the vets soon enough but I wanted to give her time to settle and recover before carting her off for a grope!! ![]() She's been very good so far, I haven't found anything that's been destroyed (apart from my wrists!!!!) though she will have a claw at the sofa and I'm in the process of teaching her what 'No' means. She seems to think it means 'please launch yourself at my hand/arm, claws and teeth at the ready!' It's luuurve all the way though ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

If she did have buns in the oven, she was only at mel's for a day or so wasn't she? So I'd presume she wouldn't be presenting symptoms that soon? That being said I know Mel said she was locked in the bathroom at her old home but I'm wondering if she managed to get out at some point?
Hopefully she isn't! How old is she again? |

She's 6 months old today! Ooooh, does that mean wine and cake for me tonight??
I really don't think she is up the duff, I think the angle of the photo and the way she was half reclining/sitting made her look podgy (and the camera adds 10 pounds doesn't it???)

By that reckoning Libby has defied logic and conceived without a male and without her internal bits With her it's mainly that her coat is extra fluffy and winterry atm. Normally she looks pretty sleek.6months today, chances are she might not even have had a season yet, she might have started early like Libby did, but hopefully not. If she's very hungry like you said earlier and has a bit of a podgy belly, it might be an idea getting her a course of dewormer from the vets? Just another idea. |
