Default Rat Food

Id like to mix up a little of my own rat food for my 4 girls and wondered in what quantity / percentage should they have what food group.
They are eating shop bought rat fod and we treat them with bits of fruit and veg etc (tonight there is cucumber and carrot in the cage)

Any advice would be great thanks
T

If you only want something to mix up the diet and give a bit of variety then I suggest taking a trip to a health food store and getting:
70g Dehydrated fruits
1lb Sugar free cooking oats
1lb Sugar free bran flakes
7oz Sugar free puffed rice
1/2lb Organic dry pasta
1/2 cup Sun flower seeds
1/4 lb Unsalted, roasted soy nuts

This can be mixed all together and free fed but its best fed in 2 small meals along with a main complete diet. For a simpler approach, buy a bag of alfa-free rabbit muesli/mix and mix in the complete food with that.

I just posted and it's not here?

I feed my rats Dr John Silver dog biscuits, they THRIVE on them it's £8.60 for a sack that last my 20 (approx) rats 2 weeks.

They're big rats, healthy rats with clean soft silky coats and do fantastically well on it.

Try it, you'll not be disappointed.
