Default why is it so difficult?

well, we went from total joy of another 3 laperm kittens born to Cody yesterday to sadness tonight. we went out for tea leaving Cody feeding the 2 boys and tiny wee girl. all was well after she got an injection this morning to help her flow of milk. we came back, checked on them and found the gorgeous little black/white boy inconscious. stimulated him a bit and called vet...went down...she wasnt sure why he was like this but gave him glucose injection anyway, ...cost a bomb!!!! but before inj he was stirring and coming too. we brought him home but he sadly passed in my hands. he was soooooooooooo gorgeous and unusual markings. we'd already nicknamed him Toby after a pony many moons ago who had similar face markings. R.I.P little man. miss you even after this short time here.

Sorry to read this. Sometimes some things just aren't meant to be, sadly.

I think all of us who breed have had heartache at some time or another - it's certainly not all joy and happiness.

Hope the other 2 are thriving though.

Oh dear, I've never had that happen. Is she putting them in the litter tray and leaving them alone there? Or is she bedding them down in the litter tray (you know that I'm hoping you're going to see that she's bedding them down in the litter tray!) If not I'd be very worried that she's not got the right idea - she is a maiden queen isn't she??

yes this is 1st litter. she was just leaving them there and now and then going in with them. have moved litter tray so many times and have now put it directly in front of door of pen. today was successful....still in bed when i came home. talk about stressing at minute. wiggles kittens now 5 and half weeks running riot when out now and woody (shephard) is trying to do his babysitting for wiggles.....they also run rings round him. haha the 2 newest are really small for any newborn kittens. had full health check and seem ok for now. cody's milk taking wee bit longer to flow as well as it should but they are gaining tiny bit o weight. so fingers crossed.

its just so heart breaking. yes i've bred both my girls but not a 'breeder' they're sooooo part of my family and so are they're young. such a sin when such a gorgeous dog as the akita is has difficulty. are you hand feeding?
