Well here she is!
She's was incredibly quiet and calm on the journey home on the train. When we got home she even allowed me to carefully lift her out of her carry box, even though you could see she was quite anxious. The look on her face said it all really - 'I don't know who you are or where I am - I'll let you pick me up, but don't try anything clever!' She spent the next few hours checking out her cage - she's already picked a favourite toy which she's 'killing' as I type now. We had a fun 10 minutes where I opened the cage door to say hello and make an adjustment to a toy, and she ended up sat on my arm while I hand-fed her some fresh pineapple. She does tend to 'beak' everything, including me, and I have some fairly livid dents in my fingers now but that is to be expected with this species and with patience and gentle discipline it is something she *should* grow out of. I'm absolutely over the moon with her - she's been here less than 6 hours and already she's shown willingness to interact and bond with us. I know we're going to have a lot of fun building our relationship with this little bird! I also need to say a huge thank you to Ken, who as well as being just the nicest guy ever has also provided us with a very professional and caring support service. If you think Willow's cute - Go talk to Ken! He's still got a couple of babies left ![]() Willow just after coming out of her travel box - ![]() 'Are all these toys for me?!' ![]() 'I like chewing this' ![]() 'More chewy things!' ![]() 'Mmmmm.... pineapple!' ![]() |
