Unhappy Evil Cat

Hi

Well as you can see by my sig i have a at called Freya. well she is evil.

When I got her the pet shop said she was 8 weeks old and well by personal experience just looking at her I could tell she was no more than 4 weeks (bright blue eyes small tail kitten teeth bushy fur).

Well for the first say 4 weeks I had her she was fine was the nicest cat you could ever meet but for about 2-3 month now she has become really evil. You can't stroke her or play with her without her clawing and biting your hands to shreads.

She attacks everyone and everything and cries all the time for no reason apart from wanting attension (to which you give her attension and she bites or scratches you)

I tried changing her food to no avail I also stopped buying her catnip toys yet again to no avail. Is there anything I can do that could calm her down. I know getting the vet to give her the snip can calm cats down but would only do that as a last resort. Also could you think her being taken away from the mother to early may be the problem

Can anyone help

I don't know much about cats but is it possible that she is having her first season and doesn't understand it with being so young.

Hope someone else can help you with your problems

at such a young age she hasnt been taught every thign the mum needs to teach her.
Your having the same problems as i am having with a fostered kitten, that i am fostering now, he lost his mum and two sisters at ages 5 weeks. He is now, becomming very aggressive.. the only way i can stop it, is by him being told what to and not to do by my other 4 cats.

Yeah my mam has suggested I take her down to see her 4 cats so they can teach her a thing or two but worried she will get attached then hate me more for taking her away again. here is Freya when i first got her just looking at size you can see she was to young. Excuse the part of the pic with me in it had just got out of hospital and wasn't in the mood for pics

The problem with kittens being seperated from mum at such a young age is they dont learn any social skills. She is also a Tortie which heightens the problem
I would get her spayed asap(presuming she is at least 5 months ) as hormones will make her worse. Stop having contact with her. Let her come to you then if she shows she wants attention give her one very gentle stroke then ignore her. You will have to be persistant with her as she has already learnt that she can bite and scratch you.
The crying is attention seeking(unless of course she is in season) which you will have to ignore and maybe distract her with a feather duster type toy. DO NOT use your hands to play with her as this encourages play biting, a wand type toy is the best as you have a stick between you and her claws and teeth

Taking her to your Mums cats is not an option as its their territory of which she has no claim too. This only works with resident cats and young kittens
When Eileens about she will give you some advice too

Yes all the advice Shell has given you is good advice.

Your problem is exacerbated by the tortie (they are naughty cats) and the bengal which is an attention seeking dominant breed. So you were quite frankly on a hiding to nothing taking her on without any social skills.

A calico is a tortoiseshell cat, but the difference is that the colours on a normal tortie intermingle together, but on a calico all the red hairs are together and all the black hairs are together.

Normal tortie with both coloured hairs intermingling. ................calico showing the colour in patches

As far as being in season is concerned, lots of female cats have seasons at 5 months, especially the 'foreign' breeds, of which the Bengal is!

I would have her in to be neutered as quickly as possible and then work on teaching her that attention is available on your terms - not hers!

Thank you both on the advice I had no clue a calico was similar to a tortie. Looking at the pics I have a feeling my mams tortie is more calico. I will book the appointment for the vets as soon as I get paid. Think it is a bit weird to breed a tortie with a bengal if both breeds are known to be "naughty" but anywho. Thanks so much again for the advice.
