Default A little help .. Re Pet shop with Dead animal..
Yesterday me and dad went to a pet shop, its a really good one actually, staff are rubbish but hay ho...
We went there yesterday and notice how hot it was... Boiling in the shop, must of been around 26/28 ishhh (a little hotter than my reptile room).
In all of the animals tanks they have extra lighting so you can see the animals, whihc ment they were EVEN hotter...
All the animals, which includes rabbits, mice, rats, chins etc were all panting away huffing breathign really fast etc, far to hot..
I then saw a rat which was dead, it was under the only shelter from the light, the log roll thing. There was another adult rat in the cat who was sitting there panting away, petrifed.
I then told the staff and he said... 'oh'..
Now... is the RSPCA or council the people to talk to, if its Re reptiles i go to the council but im not to sure about mammals...

It's the same as for reptiles, all are "livestock" held under a pet shop license.

Maybe tell the staff its to hot, get some fans and some bottled water frozen into the cages?
yeah report it needs sorting.

defo report sounds like the staff dont know there asses from their elbows does anoy me so much when u get shops like this that employ just anyone with no knowledge at all

When I worked in a pet shop, we always turned off the enclosure lights on hot days...

Christ! when i worked in a pet shop we had big fans and massive bottles with frozen water, and extra bowls of water. this defo needs sorting i would phone the store manager too, and head office as good knows how long it will take for the council to get out, and our sun wont last very long, just tell head office if you go bk in tommorow and things havnt changed you will got to the local press and the council/rspca!! x

went in today all lights off, and air con on...
now why didnt they do that yesteday?
