Default soft claws ??

Does anyone use these on there cats, Meeito by rescue boy scratches everything including the kids so i looked online and found soft claws, basically the are soft bits of plastic that you glue onto there claws and they last 6 weeks

he is an indoor cat so he will be safe with them as can't get attacked

Has anyone else used them? what is you opinion

thanxs

Hate the idea of them. Produced in America of course. If the cat cannot scratch kids in self defence, how will they learn to leave it alone when it doesn't want to be bothered? Personally, if they are house cats, I would clip the tips off the nails with nail clippers but get someone to show you how. Outside cats need their sharp claws for defence and climbing.

My opinion is they will last about 6 hours not six weeks, lol

What other methods have you tried to reduce what and where he is scratching? Have you trimmed his claws? often having long claws makes them scratch a lot more!

What a load of cobblers! I'd love to see someone applying them, though. Picture the scene.... a struggling cat..... really small bits of plastic..... and GLUE!! What fun, probably one of those rainy sunday afternoon jobs!!!

lol

i have brought a large scratching post for him and if i see him going at it on the carpet i take him over to it

He has been to the vet to have his nails trimmed

hubbie is getting annoyed as he has ruined my dd's new carpet and the bottom of the stairs and has now started on the front room carpet lol
he knows he is being naughty because he looks at you when he does it and runs when you stand up to get him!

They are mainly used in the 'film and television' industry, so cover there claws, to make it easier to do certain scenes with inexperienced cast and crew members, but there is a rule that they are only aloud on for the max of 2 hours, then they must be off for an hour, hence why they often use more than 1 cat so they don't have to wait for the cats hour to be up.
