Default Do you know what he's doing??.....

One of my boxers has been acting strange this last cople of days.....every now and again he jolts his head to the side twice, snaps at the air a few times, jolts his head again and then carries on whatever he was doing before like he was in a trance......
I wondered if any of you knew what this was or if yours have ever done this??......

How old is he? Have you checked his ears for anything that could be irritating?
I don't like to be alarmist but you should get him checked out. Boxers are prone to brain tumours.

I've checked his ears and his eyes too...... there doesn't seem to be any inflammation or anything I'm aware of......
I've lost a couple of boxers to brain tumours and it doesn't present like they did..... and I've always got them from boxer rescue so never known any of their histories......
I have him booked in the vets on thursday morning (earliest I could get)......

Hope it's not - I haven't seen it first hand so fingers crossed I'm way off the mark.
May be worth checking his teeth and mouth. Could it be a sting? And check he hasn't got anything in his eyes - he could have a bit of gunk thats floating into his vision and he's snapping at it like its a fly or something.
Good luck at the vets.

Default epilepsy?

snapping the air is a classic symptom of canine epilepsy. My dog did this. The first symptoms of epilepsy in our dog was nothing more than a small behaviour change.

good luck at the vet, just keep an eye on him for now and take note of any quirks he has developed.
