Default Thieveing gits knicked my Brio out the yard.

I'd just put the brio medium rat cage in the yard and washed it all down, left it to dry for a few hours, we were in the house.

Went out to bring it in and set it up for the rats and it was gone.

Apparently the scrap man took it, along with a new washer and a motorbike engine form other yards, the cage had been taken down and washed panel by panel.
He only took the metal bits as well.
We've had to stop him before but not in the middle of the day usually in the morning first thing.
He even took my chain off the gate to get in.

Well he's reported now. No chance of us, or the other people, getting the stuff back but the police are watching for him as he's been reported a few times.

Anyway I'm now a brio down, was holding 12 rats, they are not very happy in smaller cages and boxes until I can manage another one. The best thing is I just gave away two critter 2's 'cos I dont' really like them.

Next time I see him I'm letting the dogs out at him.

I know his wagon so I have to take the reg number so the police can go see him.

He took a brand new, in box, washer from another womans yard.
The delivery men had been and because the doors are awkward she told them to leave it in the yard as her husband was due in soon.
The also took a motorbike engine, covered in tarpaulin, left the tarp. The poor bloke had just paid £300 for it the day before and it was being fitted to his bike that day!!!!

Luckily our street has cameras but they dont' cover our end......how convenient!!!!!

God how awful! We have similar cheeky sods of scrap people round here but even they still ask (even if they are cheeky with it). Mind you, we've been in each time they've come - I had one of my Duettos out yesterday while I cleaned it so I'm counting my lucky stars now. Hope you get the barstewards!

Seems odd that the police didn't go after him at the time and check his vehicle or even the scrap merchants if he'd offloaded makes you wonder exactly what the police do do these days don't it?

HOpe you get things sorted soon.

I think that's bloody dreadful! He's not a scrap metal man he's just a common thief!!

Surely when you have scrap metal for scrap metal men, you put it on the street, not outside your back door in your garden and if they clock something they can take in your garden, they knock on your door and ask if it's scrap!!!

That's the way it was done when I was young - I haven't seen a scrap metal man for absolutely years!!

Will your contents insurance not cover it, because it was on your property and it's been stolen, no question about that???

*shocked* That is disgusting!! And the fact the police seem less than interested, too! Surely if this man has been robbing people left, right, and center, they should be after him! I'd be calling my insurance, as well, if I were you, Dawn

i hate scrap men, they are all thieves, when we moved we had a brand new washing machine round the side of the house that was covered up, it was only there about half an hour n the scrap man took it, when they came round the week after i told them what i thought of them, they werent bothered n said it wasnt them. i reported it 2 the police, i had the reg of the van n everything as i saw them pulling off n they said there was nothing they could do as they had no hard evidance

Least the ones round us ASK !!!
mind you they can't get on our yard though have seen them peering through the gate eyeing up all the Other halfs bikes and stuff.
Price of scrap is reasonable at the minute where we are.

Thieving bugger !!!

- Hope you reported it as *stolen* when you passed on his info and would hope the others did the same !

Assume they would check at local scrap yard/s ?
The police may shrug off the theft of your cage but a bike engine and a BNIB washing machine !?!

No way.
