i hope that doesnt get taken as the babies dying!!
what i mean is.. bluebells (super rat mummy) babies are now 6+ weeks old and ready to go to new homes. all big fat and chunky. bless their little hearts im going to miss them so much! not had anyone ask about them yet.. but doubt itll be long.
ohdeary this is going to be hard.
bluebell or daisy will not be bred from again as i feel that daisy may have another litter which she abandons and bluebell deserves to rest from now on! after raising 26 babys she is going into an early breeding retirement and will live out her life as a spoilt little missy with the rest of the girls
i dont know when i will next breed. i know my 2 other girls are now just about old enough but they both seem really little so i will probably not breed from them given their size. so i will be wait on my numbers decreasing and then being able to get 2 more females which will be ok to breed. unless my 2 white girls have a growth spurt any time soon. they are still quite young (about 6 months) so im not in a rush and they have PLENTY of time to grow and mature.
i will probably have 2 litters at the same time again as i feel this worked well for me with one abandoning the litter (if i didnt have bluebell with her babies then i would have lost all of daisys litter!)
anyways ill stop rabbiting.
i will try post some recent pictures over the weekend, of babys and all my other rats.
