OHH by far it was, i laughed it was so small, and i got to admit i am a little nervous riding, and she said he was very green, if thats as green as he is puft! although hes got that naughty eye!
If you ask for kisses he gives you them, and he even put his head right down for me to take his bridle of!!!!!!!!!! (im only short!) (i will be buying him a nice new bridal thats for sure, his is all rubbed away) only flaw to him is he has sweet itch really bad through the summer. So any tips people. Please throw them my way!

He's lovely.
First thing I would do is hog that mane again properly, trim his tail, clip all his feather off and then buy him a nice, 'proper' cob bridle... If he moves nicely, you could try him in some maxi cob classes. Once he has some proper topline, he should be really, nice. |

He sounds lovely! My boy suffers from bad sweetitch in summer, and i have him completely rugged up. Best advice is to rug him up from muzzle to tail from the end of feb, that way the flies cant get to him and start making him itch, because once he starts itching its really hard to stop it. I have my boy in a snuggy hood, then a full cover fly sheet and in mid summer sometimes a really light sheet over him as well. Phazer fly spray, and avon skin so soft around the muzzle (flies and midges wont land on any area which is greasy) If he is a mane and tail rubber with the sweetitch then smother his mane and dock also in vaseline, its keeps the flies from biting them. Hope this helps.

Only just noticed about the sweet itch...
There was talk of a 'vaccine' a few years ago, not sure what happened with that?! You can get sweet itch rugs, not sure how eefective they are?! I think where you keep the horse has a big effect though, and you might find a stable useful. |

the vaccine comes out in jan, So going to be trying him with that, the prev owner has had him since birth and said she has tried everything, but ill definatly try the vaciline and the avon stuff! ill say to my cousen as her horse has it all over.
Muffin is a bum scratcher and a head scratcher. Nothing more. THE FEATHER STAYS lol's whats the point having a stunning cob with feather only to cut it off! if i ever get him over the sweet itch the mane will never be cut, and neither will the tail (only tidy ups) im a strong lover of long manes and tails! so exsited, Me and my cousen are going to make up a paddock in the field for the two horses with sweet itch to try stop them scratching so much! (they will prob nock it down if ruby has anything to say abou it! )

Tbh, unless the vaccine works very well, expect him to never have a long main or un 'pulled' tail. AT best, it'd be patchy.
IMO, except on native breeds or proper traditional types, feathers look out of place. They especially look out of pleace on a cob with a hoged mane..... just my personal opinion though..... |
