Cat been sick, BLOOD?

My two year old has just been sick and there was some grass which I know is normal but also some blood in with the syliva. I have a vet apointment for 5.30pm today but i am so worried, I have just rang up to cancel paying my rent to take the money to get him to the vets. Has anyone got any ideas as to what it may be? I introduced two new kittens last Thursday but he also has an obsesion with chewing up carier bags.

My old cat had this once years ago, she was sick - just mucus with a tinge of blood in it. I watched her carefully and she wanted to eat and drink but all she could do was retch. I took her to the vets and they had look down her throat, couldn't see anything so they booked her in for the following morning to knock her out. Turns out she'd been eating grass and a blade of the toughest grass she could find had lodged behind her larynx and had been irritating her throat and cut it (you know the type of grass I mean!) They managed to remove it and I still have it - well, it cost me about £65, so I thought I might as well!!

Hopefully, it will be something as simple as that. Good luck.

Strangely enough they always seem to prefer the very rough couch-type grass - I think it makes it easier for them to retch and get up whatever it is that's bothering them.

Hope everything goes OK today and that it's nothing more alarming than that!

Just got back from the vets, They think he has developed an intorance to meat so I have to play around with his diet a bit, the blood was caused by a possible ulcer developing due to the diet issues so i have been given medication for that

did they do any tests for this?

No they didn't do any at all
He has been sick quite frequently over the past month or so probably 3 times a week roughly which is how often I give them meat, Every time grass has come up, I have been given a syrup mixture to give him 3 times a day for 5 days then if i'm still having problems next week I have to go back.
