Asked a mate (breeder and keeper of 5 species or owls and 4 other species of birds of prey) and he said "just had a look, no owl feathers just loads of male harris feathers".

oh no... thanks for trying though! i really appreciate it!


i can't believe its this hard to get hold of some owl feathers!

and to top it all off some of the craft feathers i ordered as a back up plan arrived today and only 4 out of the pack of 12 were usable! the rest were scruffy and damaged!

Well if you'd have asked in march/april/may/june/july I could've sorted you out a few sacks of feathers from them moulting. lol

i know this sounds grotesque but my grandparents have a stuffed owl and i can't stand looking at it ever.

i'll ask them if you can have it for the feathers and then i'm happy.. and you're happy!

i did wonder this myself... damn secret santa being in winter!

keep some for me next year please!

and if the worst come to the worst i can make it with crappy normal craft feathers and post her some new feathers next year to add to it! LOL

oh no don't do that... old taxidermy items of good quality can be worth a fair bit - especially if they are really old!
