Rabbit Qu's

Basically my rabbits are evil lol. We've had them both from 8 weeks, Poppy was very very friendly but as she's matured she's become really stroppy, she's fully grown now. I don't mind the stomping and grunting but I just cannot pick her up, she kicks badly, the injuries are getting silly. We keep her claws short but me and my OH still have numerous scars and fresh cuts. Apart from being evil, she does crave attention and climbs up your legs and follows you ect, but had been known to bite if ignored.
The other one, Daisy, she's not fully grown yet, but she's extremely nervous, she love Poppy though. The main problem with Daisy is catching her, we've been out till 3AM chasing her one night. Anyway, they get regular handling and attention, so I don't know why their so moody, apart from being female and hormonal. They are from a reputable small breeder and from very good bloodlines. If we neutered them, would it help with their moods, and is it safe to do so, on does nowadays? Is their anything else I can think about or try?

hi hun i love the butterfly in your sig she is adorable
in answer to our question if your not going to show them yes neuturing may help does can get stroppy when they hit adulthood although i havnt come across it very often i tend to because we show rabbits leave them and let them have a litter when ready that always works
neturing does is very safe the only breeds i would be worried about is the giants but little ones are fine

I am afraid that some rabbits are just like that! Some rabbits are just not that sociable with people. Neutering female rabbits is strongly recommended as 80% of female rabbits will develop uterine cancer if not spayed. I would have thought that it should also help to calm the hormones down and make them more personable.

I don't mind the rabbits being mean, but I need to be able to get them in their hutch lol I'm fed up of having to forcebly restrain them, which must make the problem worse. It will be a shame not being able to breed them as they're beautiful and Poppy especially I think, will make a very good mother. She's mothered Daisy from day one, grooming her and I think Daisy has learnt lots off her as she copies what Poppy does. That's Poppy in my Sig and Daisy in my Avitar. Daisy's ears are still too big for her.

i dont know i like them with slighty longer ears at times poppy is stunning really is love the head on her bet she would have some stunning babies
if you ever decide tolet her have a litter shout me i have many boys who would be a good match lol
oh meet my gang you will see we have some with long ears others with short who bred them just out of interest i may know them lol

They're lovely. Some of Poppy's siblings had short-ish ears. All of Daisy's had very long ones, Poppy's have dropped lower as she's aged. I'd love a buck that would bring out the lilac butterfly with Poppy and the black butterfly with Daisy. I'm not sure on genetics with rabbits , but is it like snakes, IE A lilac butterfly HET black butterfly? I need to find out what other genes they carry. I got them off a lady called Emma in the manchester area, I got Daisy in exchange for a baby corn snake lol I don't even know what Butterfly means lol

butterfly is the markings all the mini lops in my sig are butterflys black and lilac are the colour although she looks more like a blue otter to me but it could be the lighting in the photo charlie on my site was a blue otter butterfly she was fab lovelycolour and only sinling i ever got out of my gay buck barbosa sad to say she wasnt showable lol

OH MY GOD. I thought Poppy was cute as a baby, but Charlie is something else! They are a similar colour, do you have any pics of lilacs to compare?
