Default A cat illness the vets cant cure any ideas?? PLEASE ANY IDEAS

ok im at my mits end now and really trying to get any advice i can on this and see if we can find either a cure or a way of handling this problem.

this might be a long post but i need to get all the info in,

our 7 year old british black shadow, has had a reocuring problem since october 2008. this problem started with loose of fur around her back foot, which looked swallon and weeped and bleed.
we took her to the vets you gave her an injection of steriods and said it was a kind of raod rash from her jumping down walls.

after 6 other trips to the vets (one month) and different injections and tablets we tried home medicating i managed to get the wound to reduce in size by binding the leg and treating the wound with salavon. this worked for three months and the wound stopped bleeding ad started to heal over this was in april the wound stayed closed but not healed till june when we woke up to what i can only describe as a murder scene as the wound had open and bleed BADLY, shadow must of lost a half a pint of blood that night.

so back to the vets (this time a different group) the said she was and allergie to something and gave her oxytet anitbiotic and prednisolone steriods for three weeks, well after another four trips to the vets we are here still no better, tho the wond does not seem to bother shadow, its painful for us to see her like this and the nieghbours are worried to.

please note she has been the vets nearly once amonth for a year now and still no cure from them.
the picture below is from tonight, the wond still weeps tho it snt bleeding as badly.

any advice, ideas, anything to help our little girl we are clutching at straws, thank you for reading

Edited for more info
sorry i should have said in my first post i might edit to include this.
shadow has had two ops to look at this problem and they couldnt find anything in the wound or remove the are due to its size.

they have done full bloods and could not find anything other then slight anemia/low iron count (SP)
the wont bind the wound cause tehy want it to dry first but it wont.

she is treated for worms and fleas on a regular basis (worms once a year fleas once a month as directed)

all jabs up to date, and the wound is just below what you could call her knee

Where abouts is that on her paw?

I'm not very cat minded but..

Have they taken any bloods to check everything else is ok with her?

The thing that would spring to my mind is that there could be a foreign body in there which could stop it healing. Have they thought about knocking her out for a look at all? Or have they checked already to make sure there isnt anything in there?

I havent seen a rash or an allergy look like that.

That looks horrific poor cat and what a worry for you. Have the vets taken either a swab or a biopsy of the area?? There is a chance that your cat has an immune problem as I had a GSD that was vaccine damaged with similar ulcers all over his body but they used to come and go.
I did wonder about MRSA too but a swab would rule this out.

As Martha says there could also be a foreign body in the original wound which is causing the body to react. I think the vets need to be a bit more thorough in their search for a cure

Could it be something as simple as in-grown hairs that have caused ulcers etc, even in humans if you get them under the arm they are very difficult to treat and get rid off, it was on embarrasing bodies I think,
the ulcerated skin on the bloke was huge and just got worse and worse, and bigger and bigger... and that started with an in grown hair........just a thought?
I cant believe the vet has got no further with investigations?

Have they biopsied?
And also not only swabs of the area, but also tissue culture might be helpful.

i do believe that what they did when she was under its not cancer and they cant isolate a bateria or infection.

Feline Eosinophilic Granuloma Complex: An Overview
