Default Where to find ferrets

Come out, come out, wherever you are..

I know I'm not looking in-season for kits (which is fine by me) but it seems that all of the breeders, shows, even pet shops have suddenly died on the ferret front. I popped by the RSPCA shelter in Leicester today and had a play with their ferts and took a liking to two, buuut they were reserved and took several nasty bites from one of the others lol.

Does anyone know of any breeders, petshops or rescues with ferrets in the East Mids, or around Manchester/Warrington? I'm having a good look around rather than jumping for the first friendly pair I see.

i`d recommend this one, its where i took the feral ones that were biting chunks out of my pets in the garden.

they like you to take pairs if you havnt got any ferts already, and have a lot of nursing mothers and babies handed in.
they have years of expericence and and great for help and advice.

The RSPCA usually sends ferrets off to local private ferret rescues, that's why.
Shame you're so far away, we've got a lovely pair of adult hobs, total pussy cats as far as temperament goes, in full health, lovely and chunky, my poor little sob-story boy deserves a homeeee lol.

maybe we were lucky when we had to rear the 3 week old-ish baby ferts?

Or maybe they just especially hated us for no apparent reason?

Cheers guys.

I would rather rescue ferts tbh, but as I said I'd like to see if there are any particular ferts out there that will "click" with me (the one that hung onto my thumb earlier clearly didn't!) so I'm looking anywhere at the moment. Visiting a breeder tonight that I found just outside of Leicester.
Not in any rush though, collecting a ferplast ferret tower and a few other bits and bobs on sunday so housing etc will be all ready for when I do find them.

I get the feeling the owners at mercia aren't that particularly nice? lol

If anyone knows of anywhere else I'd appreciate it

If you're an @r53 kisser and agree with everything they say they are absolutely delightful. When you disagree with the carp that they spew then no, they're aren't particularly nice to say the least!
