what would cause discolouration on a rats skin?
Hii
I heard people talking about a hairless rat whose skin has turned a yellowly (sp) colour. and i was wondering what would cause this and how it could be reversed? Thanks for reading.

If it is a male then it could be hormonal.
This causes a grease like substance that is also a yellowy colour to be visible on the skin usually around the back end of the buck. I use baby wipes to wipe it off.

Well if it's not buck grease, only thing I can think of is jaundice. If it's not buck grease, it's worth a vet trip.
