I use Oko Plus, too. Saw it on another thread a while ago and thought I'd give it a go.

It's good stuff but it does go everywhere - a lot of litters I've tried have tracked all over the carpets, at least this one is a bit softer underfoot if you stand on it!!!

Easy to clean out as well since it's clumping but doesn't clump to the sides/bottom of the litter pan like a lot of the clay-type litters do.
I tried Worlds' Best when it first came out years ago, but we couldn't get away with it at all.

I find that strange because Somalis have huge toe tufts (in fact it's a standard fault if they don't have them, so the bigger the better!) and that's never happened to any of mine - adults or kittens. Yes pee clumps can stick to the bottom of the tray if the cat digs down before pee-ing, but it scrapes off with our cat litter scoop no bother.

I agree about the wood pellets. I tried them over 20 years ago and although my Aby would use it, my young Somali refused point blank and started poo-ing in the bath instead! He was OK with pees, but it seemed to be that as soon as the pellets broke down and he had to dig in wet sawdust, he decided "no way" and poo-ed in the bath instead! So that stopped that!

Unfortunately Oko does tread, but show me a cat litter that doesn't and at least it hoovers up very easily. We used Naturecat Gold for years before we changed to Oko and that treaded, but when it was stood on, on a wooden or lino floor, it broke down into dust and was proper messy and I got fed up with ending up with hard bits of clay inside my socks!

the wood pellet one was no good as the cats dont like it moving under their feet, and with tuffy toed puss cats it tracks big sawdust feet marks all over the floor

i`m back to sophisticat lightweight, i just have to keep on top of them
Have to say we've found the complete opposite. I guess we don't have issues with it clumping onto the litter pan because whatever litter we use has to be at least 2.5" or so deep otherwise Kimi wont use it.

I find it more or less the same as the Oko. The only thing I didn't like was when the cats pee'd on it it turned into a spongey clump so it sometimes broke down when being scooped out, but that was sorted by using a wide toothed scoop instead of the commercial plastic ones that would be more use as a spatula then a cat litter scoop.

Ours is usually about 3-4" deep, but it depends on how scrupulous your cat is at digging holes - kittens especially appear to have aspirations to dig to Australia if they need a poo! If they dig down before doing the deed, then the wee can end up running through the litter onto the base, but we've always found that it scrapes off easily with a good poop scoop.

I seem to remember that that was what we didn't like about it either!

The cattery I used to work at used yesterday's news and it seemed to work good it never really smelt when you went into the cattery in the morning.
At home I use catsan but find it does get spread everywhere if she uses the litter tray.

When I bought Dennis he was used to the sand so I bought some just for him in his own tray but he never used it and went straight into the wood pellets I use.
I like wood litter but agree that some cats wont use it if they arent used to it but mine all use it with no problem
At the sanctuary they use Easyclean sand but it ends up everywhere then when the pens get wet it sets like concrete when dry or slippy when wet.

We tried litter pearls once and they are horrid as the white litter turns a nasty yellow colour

I actually liked the silicone cat litter, but the balls rolling around on the wooden and lino floors were a bit irritating.

Then my friend had a real problem with a kitten who picked up one of these balls and it literally stuck its tongue together! She had the devil of a job getting it out of the kitten's mouth, so we both stopped using it after that!

We use wood based stuff, whatever's on offer at the supermarket. We avoid clay stuff, I hate that. We had some see through stuff with blue bits in, that was ok but I think someone above said, it sticks to your feet.
