Default Which Litter??

Can anyone suggest a good effective cat litter? I have been through most on the market and the best I have found is one recommended by breeders made of compressed paper. I have 4 cats, 3 of which spend most of the day outside and 1 who is not going out until she has been neutered. I clean the trays in the evening and come the next evening they stink!! i scoop out as and when I am awake/not at work so its mostly the urine thats causing the problem. Any advicce would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I use Beauty cat wood litter and never have a problem with smells but cats wont use it unless they are used to it
You could try the Ultra sand clumping ones like Easy clean cat litter or ones like Worlds best catlitter

Just google the names and you can read about them

And here she is!

I use Oko Plus, which is a wood based clumping litter. It's very lightweight and, although probably one of the most expensive to buy, lasts for ages so works out cheaper. After 25+ years of owning cats we've tried loads of different litters, ranging from fullers earth, wood pellets, sand type, paper and silicone and without doubt we've found Oko Plus is the best and the cheapest.

Because it's a clumping litter, we clean out the poo and the wee morning and evening and when the level gets low top it up. I keep a litter tray in my living room, one in my bathroom and 1 in the utility room and I never smell cat litter smells since I started using it.

We've used both Worlds Best and Oko plus in the past and they are definitely two of the best, if not THE best litters out there, they are quite similar and as said whilst they're expensive they last forever and a day. Easy to clean out as well since it's clumping but doesn't clump to the sides/bottom of the litter pan like a lot of the clay-type litters do.

i tried oko plus when it first came on the market and i didnt get on with it at all.

my cats have tufty toes and it stick in silicone like clumps on the tufty bits, and it dosnt wash of, it was a scissors job to cut it out ( not fun on kittens ) and even though i had it deeper than it said to on the bag the `wee` would stick in big hard clumps on the bottom.

the wood pellet one was no good as the cats dont like it moving under their feet, and with tuffy toed puss cats it tracks big sawdust feet marks all over the floor

i`m back to sophisticat lightweight, i just have to keep on top of them
