When I used to let my cats go outside, many years ago. I always stood at the back door and banged a spoon on the edge of a tin lid and called them. I did that in the house before ever I let them out, so that they knew that sound meant "grubs up"!!

Course that only works if they're in earshot and they aren't always that close to home, especially once they discover the joys of the great outdoors, but it does help.

Snakes: 2 corns - Monty, anery (15) Calleigh, miami zig zag (8.)
Dogs: German Shepherd - Skye - (3)
Cats: 2 Somalis - Cadbury & Purrdy (12) brother & sister) - bred by me
Rats : Dougal, (Mink) & Wee Jeemy, (Blue berkshire dumbo rex) - 1½ yr old
Fish: 15 pond fish - couldn't be bothered to name them!
