Default Rats rucking

I have 3 female rats, all have lived together since they were about 10 weeks old, and now I would estimate they are about 20 weeks old.

They have recently been 'rucking' more than usual. Theres no flesh wounds or marks, they are just 'wrestling' and emmiting the odd squeek here and there.

Is this normal and OK? Is it a phase, like being a teenager and they are battling for adult hierachy? Will they 'grow out of it?' Is it something I need to worry about?

Thanks.

P.S. they play and sleep and eat together most of the time.

Sounds perfectly normal to me
They're probably just trying to sort out their positions in their group
Have you noticed a certain alpha female in the group?

Yes and no. One is the biggest and most confident of the three, she gets to the food first and seems to do most of the cage arranging (lol) but saying that, during the rucks it seems like they're all pretty even, anyone of them can come out as the victor, quite often I'll watch it switch 4 or 5 times before they give up

It's a good rule, I use it for all small furries!
