Default silly degu!

one of my boys jessie managed to get himself stuck in a bit of kitchin roll tube... i have had them over 2 years now, they always have tubes and card in their cage as they love to shred it for their bed... i came upstairs from breakfast and there is jessie sat on the shelf of the cage with a bit of the tube round his middle... i dont have a clue how he managed to get it over his head and front paws! luckily my sister is home today so she tore it off while i held him (being the less tame of my two boys i couldnt hold him and get the tube off) he seems fine altho will be keeping an eye just incase he hurt himself anywhere, altho he seemed pretty greatful that we got it off i even got a cuddle with him before i had to put him back in cage!!

in future i will definatly be cutting the tubes up the side before they go in the cage! silly goo!!!

LOl poor little soul! I have some big male rats that would get stuck in tubes, so I rip them down the diagonal "seam" into a spiral.

Do you have pics of your goos? I would love some but I think my OH would leave if I got another species lol.

nah i didnt i had a few people ask me... as funny as it was i was more worried bout getting it off him cuz he were pretty upset, plus he wasnt staying still for anyone poor lil thing.

sister just told me i scared the crap out of her, she had heard me go into my degus cage as her room is nxt door to mine, then i shouted "debs come here please quick" she just said to me "whenever you shout me like that and i have heard u go into their cage its something bad i panicked!!! dont bloody do that!" (i called her once when my old goo doogie was passing... i were hysterical! and called her again not so long ago when chester was ill and acting odd...) my sister is great... no matter what time day or night if something is wrong with any of my animals she will be with me in a flash, she sat and comforted me as doogie passed and for hours after she even called the vets to arrange his cremation because i cried every time i talked bout him. im so lucky not only that but she is the one who talked my dad into letting me get all the pets i have now she is a star!

Oh what a silly little Goo. Hope he's fine now after this. I still remember one of mine getting stuck in his wheel, trying to hold him still & trying to free him at the same time meant i got bitten . I got him free though & he was fine.
