we have got hedgehogs and have raised them from babies, feed them mashed up worms and snails and slugs.
are you sure the absess isnt a tick or a flea bite?

my mum used to keep hedgehogs (sometimes we have them from rescue centres and look after them if they are too young to hibernate in the winter.)

All i can suggest is that you keep up the good work, try offering it worms if you can as thats what they would eat in the wild and things.

well i have just spent near on an hour with a hedgehog rescue had another look at him turns out that lump was where he tucked his little elbows in and they were poking thru looking like lumps lol she told me they need warmth and said putting a heat mat under the tank would be fine so have done that my garden is all slabs and i couldnt find any slugs lol so ive got some cat meat instead which i was advised will be fine for him am gonna dig up my nans garden tomorrow she has grass and lives round the corner
she said with his size and age it looks like ill be having him over winter and he may not be fat enough to hibernate which is a shame but he has everything he needs now and will see how it goes
