One of my pet chickens has got slightly rattley breathing and the other day she coughed/sneezed once. Havent heard her cought/sneeze again since but when i pick her up her breathing does sound abit rattley/wheezy, but if i just listen to her chest when shes standing on the ground i cant really hear anything wrong with it. The only advice i can seem to find for this problem is to wring their necks but as i mentioned about she is a pet chicken and i really dont want to loose her.
I live in newmarket, Thanks for the offer of help, will pm you if i do!
Thanks for the advice, i wanted to know what it could be/how serious it is etc before spending more money on vet bills! As i said she only seems to wheezy when holding her so didnt know if it could be a slight obstruction etc. I have only had her for about 3 weeks, and she was a fully vaccinated point of lay chicken given to my boyfriend by his dad as a birthday present (to go with our exsisting chickens) (which no before you ask have not had any of the same symptoms!) Hence the really not wanting to loose her! If you think it could be somthing quite serious then she will go to the vets in the week! I guess chickens cant get sore throats then!
What are her living conditions like? How often is the coop cleaned? And as above, vets will probably be the best bet.
She lives in my back garden with 3 other chickens, they have a house that has plenty of ventilation (but is not drafty) which is approx 1.6m by 1m by 1m. it has a run (the same size as the house), but they have free range of the garden. The chicken house is cleaned out once a week as they are only really in it at noght and it doesnt get too messy.

Cool, obvious question I know, have to ask.
But yeah, if it does continue, vets will be best as they're obviously not livestock.
