Smile getting a baby giant!!

after the sudden death of sparkie (my french lop x rabbit) i have been deciding whether to get another rabbit or not. but now my decision is made!
the person i bought my massive hutches off have got some babies for sale and i love the breed. they are continental giants
all i got to decide now is which one to have, i know when i see them i will fall in love with them all but can only have 1 (they got 2 black and 1 white left). hope its not such a hard decision for me to make!!

well i am collecting him/her tomorrow evening so will update you all then on my baby

Aww, congratulations!! You're going to need an awfully big rabbit hutch!!
I love giant critters, just feel its a shame they get short changed on the life span...

i already have 3 rabbits (a netherland dwarf, a lop and another rabbit) but i've got 2 lots of double hutches (making 4 individuals). each hutch measures approx 6ft wide x 3.5ft depth x 3ft high so the 3 i have already live in luxury . the person i got them off used to use them for the giants till she had a block of 4 made instead.
he/she will also be able to have the run of the whole garden for a few hours of the day.

My conti has a 8 x 3 x 3 jutch but livesout in the garden 24/7 only going into her hutch to eat.

The miniature pinscher dog is terrified of her but the rottie sometimes play with her when she goes to play with him.

She's over 2 now so not ayoungster any more...pity they dont' live as long as smaller rabbits.

Mines a 'boring' agouti but I still think she's the beat bunny going......

Heshe is gorgeous though..Just wait for him to grow up.

My advice is to keep handling him, pull him around aibt without naffing him off just to get him used to being pulled about a bit, as if you don't the do get a bit 'bolshy' if you let them.

Smile

well, theres an update on the giant bunny front lol
the baby i got is definately a male and once he is out his cage he is so calm (not bad to say they had't handled them much).
still no name so any suggestions??

then yesterday i saw an advert on preloved for a conti cross rabbit, 10months old free to a good home. contacted the people and asked questions then it was a mad rush to sort a home out. i managed to get a cheap 2floor hutch for my nethie to move into which left another giant hutch empty and my friend took me this afternoon to fetch her.
she has been used by a university for researching rabbit living space needed. although she is twice the age of my baby, she is only the same size but as they got her as a rescue rabbit in the 1st place, her father is unknown. she is another albino with pink eyes and called big-wig.
will upload pics tomorrow.
