Hi sam,

I only used one coat, but it is recomended to use two coats , this should hold up to being wet all the time, just make sure the eco earth is dry when you put it on.

Good luck

Hi peeps,

I thought I would do regular updates of my "planted vivs" so you can get an idea over time, what plants work, and which plants don't.

This viv was completed in May 08, though the Broms do well, I have had trouble finding other plants that will do well at the bottom of the viv. So although the birds nest fern is still there, it's not happy, so I've put a Ficus in to see how it does. The other addition is a couple of earth star (Cryptanthus) at the top.

So this is the viv now, March 2010. So far the Ficus is doing well, if it carries on like this I will start pinning it to the back to get some greenery on there.

My planted crestie terrarium didnt do too well so have gone back to plants in pots dug into the eco-earth!

Yup,

I think keeping the plants in the pots is the way to go, if nothing else, they are easier to replace if they die. In my latest build I have put all the plants in pots
