Hi Jay,
I use 2 large heat mate on the bottom and side for the summer and a fan that comes on if it gets to hot in the viv (78f Max).

In the winter i add a low watt red heat bulb set to come on if the temp falls lower than 65f as my front room can drop to very low temp in the night at winter as we have a glass roof. once the summer comes i take the light red heat light out.

And the heat bulb doesn't burn the plants? I have 20watt halogens that I use in the winter in my Crestie viv, but any broms within 6" of the lights get burnt.

Now the viv is built I can't think of a way to heat it without burning my plants

Jay

I use a 60wt household bulb for heat in my vivs and it only burns the plants if they are within about an inch. But so long as i keep an eye on the plants its fine.
