flies can come in on all sort ssuch as leaft litter and logs, or even fruit and from cricket foods.

If you dont have a bet that east them consider some of the canivious plants, sundew is often used by many of the dart frog keepers as its small and doesnt damage the frogs. Just make sure if you go down that route they can't harm the occupant.

I had the same problem! BUT my guess is that thu are fungus gnats so they are probably eating the fungus that could be harmful to your chondro! They should die down soon once the fungus is all eaten! Give it a week or so and they will be gone!

What you doing opening the viv all the time anyway! Leave the poor snake alone

I wanted to try that but couldnt find a carniverous plant that would withstand the temps in a chondros viv, Mine site at around 76f at the coolest part to 84f at the basking site. Do you know of one that would thrive in those conditions and dont need cooling over winter!?

You could try some of the tropical pitcher plants- I have no idea as to suppliers, though.

I've seen dwarf pitcher plants at the eden project recently, not sure on the size they reach but they may be small enough

True. As said, though, the flies will disappear (or at least reduce) fairly soon.
